It’s getting down to the nitty gritty. I’ll soon have a release date for Dragon Dreams and to generate interest I’m running an ad on social media ie Facebook and Instagram. The more reviews a book starts out with, the better it will do.
I believe in this book; it’s been through months of writing, rewrites, editing, and now it’s on the final stage. So the push is on. Above is the ad I ran that is getting some interest. I’m over the moon so far.
Dragon Dreams has been a labor of love; it started out as an homage to my son’s deceased dog. Let me tell you about Deuce. He was big; when I first met him, I thought he had Newfoundland in him. But Jesse said no, he was just a big German shepherd type dog called a Hovavort. I still think Deuce had Newfoundland in him.
Deuce was a gentle giant who, when camping with my son, would do periodic “Perimeter checks”. He’d get up and stroll in a circle around the camp and make sure all was well. As a mother worried about her 30 something son camping for weeks in the wilds, I was very grateful to Deuce. He’d do it at home too; Deuce would disappear for a few minutes and return with an ‘all’s well’ attitude.
As happens with all of us, including our fur families, he aged. His perimeter checks became fewer and shorter until old age caught him and we had to say goodbye. He was loved. Crying now as I write this and he died five years ago. Jesse and I were both there when the vet put him down. It hurt Jesse the most, but I was a close second.
Deuce is in Dragon Dreams. While he isn’t the main character; Addy is, he is important and has his own magic.
